Hurghada has topped the list of the most popular and attractive tourist destinations worldwide for the summer of 2025, surpassing major destinations such as Tokyo, Dubai, Bangkok, and Nice, becoming the preferred destination for millions of travelers around the world – particularly from Asia.
This is a new achievement that strengthens the global standing of Egyptian tourism, according to a recent report issued by the world’s most popular travel booking site Booking.com.
The report was based on a global survey of more than 32,000 participants from 32 countries, revealing travel trends for the upcoming summer vacations.
The report showed that approximately 48 percent of travelers plan to spend more on their vacations compared to last year, amid a growing search for unique travel experiences that combine luxury, affordability, and stunning natural beauty—a formula that Hurghada has successfully achieved.
It also noted increased interest from South Korean travelers in Hurghada and Sharm al-Sheikh, which have begun to offer viable alternatives to traditional European resorts, given their moderate climate, competitive prices, and rich cultural experiences and recreational activities.
The governor of the Red Sea governorate, Amr Hanafy explained that Hurghada is keeping pace with one of the most prominent global trends in the travel market this summer: “Recovery and wellness” trips, in which tourists seek to escape the stresses of daily life through tranquil destinations.
Tourism expert Ehab Shukry said that the report reflects the extent of global confidence in Egypt’s tourist destination and the ongoing efforts of the state and the private tourism sector to develop infrastructure, improve the quality of services, and intensify promotional campaigns that have placed Hurghada on the global tourism map as a top choice for millions of travelers.
